Privacy Policy

BOOF is built to be simple and respectful with your data. Here's what we collect and why.

1. What we collect

  • Your phone number— your login identity. We don't send marketing texts.
  • Profile info — the username, display name, bio, city and photo you choose to add.
  • Your content — the photos, videos, captions and comments you post, plus your likes, follows and messages.
  • Notification tokens — if you turn on push notifications, the token your browser provides.
  • Basic technical data — standard logs needed to run and secure the service.

We do not collect your contacts, precise location, or payment information.

2. How we use it

To run BOOF: build your feed, deliver messages and notifications, power search and profiles, and keep the community safe. We don't sell your data or use it for third-party ad targeting.

3. Content moderation

To keep BOOF safe, images you post may be analysed by an automated moderation service (Google's Gemini) to detect harmful content. Only the image is sent for that check.

4. Where your data lives & who processes it

Your data is stored with Supabase (database + media, hosted in Mumbai, India) and Vercel (app hosting). A few processors act strictly on our behalf: Google Gemini (image moderation, see §3), Resend (emails our team about moderation alerts — never marketing to you), web-push services (to deliver notifications you opt into), and Vercel Analytics / Speed Insights (privacy-friendly, cookieless usage metrics). We keep your data while your account is active and remove it when you delete your account (see §6).

5. Who can see your content

Posts are visible to other BOOF users — it's a social app. Direct messages are visible only to you and the person you're messaging. Your phone number is never shown publicly.

6. Your choices

You can edit your profile, delete your posts and comments, block users, and turn notifications off at any time. You can permanently delete your account and its data yourself from Settings → “delete my account” — this removes your profile, posts, comments and photos.

7. Children

BOOF isn't intended for anyone under 13.

8. Changes

We'll post updates here and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
